TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya has launched its first service station in Embu town in a bid to grow its market in the Central Kenya region. The new station brings to 237 the number of TotalEnergies service stations countrywide.
Speaking during the launch, TotalEnergies Kenya Finance Director Lawrencia Gichatha said the entry into the region was in response to increased customer demand for proximity of the company’s products and services and projected that it will satisfy their need for ease of access to specialty products especially the company’s trusted range of lubricants.
The company is eyeing the growing segment of private and public sector institutions and public transport, driven by devolution and the vibrant economic activity in Embu and adjacent counties.
“We have been travelling long distances to access TotalEnergies products for our clients, but now that has come to an end. This will help us improve our service to clients and while cutting costs,” said Gitonga Muturi, an Embu-based garage owner and overall winner in last year’s TotalEnergies Quartz Golden Spanner competition.
The new service station is installed with solar panels as part of the company’s sustainability strategy that includes the distribution of solar power products through its network countrywide.
“We now have about 146 of our service stations fully solarized and will continue to implement the same across the country”, noted Ms. Gichatha.
TotalEnergies is also focused on the renewable energies market with its solar energy products. Since last year, it has launched charging points for electric motorcycles in partnership with electric motorcycle manufacturer Ampersand and Roam, as part of its strategic focus on electric-powered vehicles which is an important component of its sustainability framework.
